“Havaianas celebrates the spirit of football and the love for the sport as we launch #TeamHavaianas – a special collection that pays tribute to world-famous teams that will come together at the world’s biggest sports event of the year, the World Cup. By purchasing a pair from the #TeamHavaianas collection, part of the proceeds will support #FieldofHope Philippines.

It is a project of Futkal to help rehabilitate communities affected by Haiyan through football as a means of recovering the youth from trauma to rebuild their lives leading them to the road for a brighter future”.

Young as she is, Ella Pangilinan has already embraced the life of an athlete. “Being an athlete encouraged me to learn how to discipline myself as well as create a balance between my priorities and those activities that should follow after.” Learning the importance of putting the team first has taught her the responsibility of commitment and perseverance to excel not just during practice, but also during official games. Having played as the Brent Varsity Girls Team Striker, Ella believes that “if you have the heart, nothing else should stop you from pursuing what you’re passionate about.” Simply put, she says, “No heart, no chance.”
